My latest project is the electro-pop band, boycalledbernard which was an idea I had to start a collaborative platform to produce radio-friendly, fun pop music…with a touch of irony! This has been a very interesting time writing in quite a different style.
Our first release, Get Your Head Together in late 2012 featured vocalist Rebecca Reynolds. GYHT was very well received and got good airplay across the UK on community and regional radio. We supported the release with numerous live interviews and unplugged sessions, including BBC Wiltshire and 12 BBC stations across the east coast.
The latest single Hollow – also featuring Rebecca – has been equally well received and we’ve produced a number of re-mixes and released a video which is getting good downloads. We’re currently doing a promo with UK club DJs which has had a great response so far, having just charted on Music Week’s UK Club Top 40 at number 33!
A bit about Rebecca
St Albans resident, Rebecca Reynolds has always wanted to be a singer and actress and started out by having singing lessons and attending a weekend drama school. She has also been dancing since the age of five. Since those early days, Rebecca has gained extensive experience having worked with various pop bands and producers such as Steve Levine, Mike Stevens, James Bourne and Mike Peden. She has also collaborated on various TV pilot projects with renowned songwriters and producers including Judie Tzuke, Graham Gouldman, Kevin Godley, Gary Bromham and Nina Madhoo. This all led to a signing with Telstar records as part of a duo where she got to act and star in her own TV show produced by Endemol/Initial Kids. Rebecca’s musical influences are vast but she has a soft spot for country music, particularly the great harmonies of Rascal Flatts.
